Hello Richland Two Parents. This is Libby Roof with the district's Communications Office. I’m calling to make one final plea to complete the Learning Model Selection Form.If you have already completed the form, thank you so much. Feel free to hang up on me now. If you haven’t please spare a quick minute to listen to the rest of my message. As we have shared, Richland Two will follow the district's Reopening Schools Plan for the 2020-2021 school year. Schools will follow the Phase 1 model while the overall disease activity rating for Richland County is high. We will move to Phase 2 when the overall disease activity rating for Richland County is medium and then Phase 3 will come when disease activity is low. The disease activity ratings are calculated by S.C. DHEC.To create class rosters and schedules for the 2020-2021 school year, school administrators have to know what learning models each of our 28,000+ students will participate in during the three phases. That's going to require a lot of work, and parents, we need your help. The online selection form must be completed for each Richland Two student by a parent/guardian with the authority to make educational decisions. To help us get to as close to 100 percent participation on the form as possible, we are extending the deadline to complete the form through August 2. Along with this call tonight, you are receiving an email with details on where to find more information on the three phases and a link to the form. If you do not find the email in your inbox or spam folder, please send an email to info@richland2.org.Dr. Davis, our superintendent, has said numerous times that we will come out of this situation better and stronger than we were when we had to close school buildings in the Spring. That is sure to happen if we all do our part.So parents please complete the form. Then, let’s work on getting our students back in our school buildings when it is safe to do so by wearing our masks, washing our hands often and keeping our physical distance now.Thank you and have a good evening.Thank you,Libby
